Charity project for supporting knit factory in Fukushima, Japan. Japanese jumpers Antique goods from Japan The Fukushima Knit Factory, where all our products are made, was established in 1800. On 11th March, 2011, Fukushima was hit by a devastating earthquake and tsunami which had a shattering impact on the region. This, combined with the recent impact of cheaper Chinese imports, has resulted in a loss of skills in the Japanese knitting industry. We are two Japanese sisters who feel great sadness that our heritage is dying and are trying to spread awareness about the Fukushima situation with our knitware in London. (Sunday only) |
